Job Overview
A Health and Safety Officer position is available for an experienced safety professional to ensure that a Distribution Centre complies with workplace health and safety requirements.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing safety processes, supporting emergency preparedness, investigating incidents and ensuring that risks within the workplace are identified and controlled.

Minimum Requirements
- National Diploma in Safety Management will be advantageous
- 2–4 years’ relevant health and safety experience
- FMCG or Distribution Centre experience preferred
- Knowledge of incident investigations
- First responder training will be advantageous
- Strong attention to detail
- Good interpersonal skills
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Contractor Management

- Conduct workplace risk assessments
- Identify hazards and recommend corrective actions
- Ensure risks are managed according to safety requirements
- Develop programmes to reduce workplace health and safety risks
- Provide safety awareness campaigns based on workplace incidents
Incident Investigation
- Investigate workplace incidents according to safety legislation and company standards
- Maintain records of safety incidents and reports
- Work with Department of Employment and Labour inspectors when required
- Recommend preventative measures to avoid repeat incidents
